7.4 Section - Ordinances (2nd Reading) - Continued A. M/S Ruskin/Hartnett to adopt ORDINANCE 1130-315 AMENDING THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE TO ADD SECTION 52, PLANNED COMMUNITY DISTRICT OR P - DISTRICT (first reading on October 28, 2002); Council Member Ruskin stated that he did not support the ordinance when introduced because it was his belief that it would best be applied not city-wide. In the interim he met with City staff, studied maps in relation to the subject and after careful consideration, came to the conclusion that it is best applied city-wide. The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present. 8. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS- None 9. PUBLIC HEARING- A. Building Codes Adoption; (301) Council Member Hartnett stated that the recommendation is the same as presented on November 4. Mayor Claire opened the public hearing. M/S Hartnett/Howard to close the public hearing. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. M/S Ruskin/Pierce to adopt the building codes ordinance with necessary local amendments, as recommended by the Council subcommittee: ORDINANCE 2241 REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS 1, 2 AND 3 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS 1 AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM ADMINISTRATIVE CODE PROVISIONS FOR THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION"; "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1999 EDITION"; REGULAR MEETING (JOINT SESSION) DECEMBER 2, 2002 -- MINUTES PAGE 5 MINUTES Book No. 59 Page No. 321
