<br />City of Redwood City <br />Community Facilities Scoping Study <br /> <br />Exhibit "A" <br /> <br />The objective of The Sports Management Group is to produce results that satisfy our clients' needs and <br />result in long-term working relationships. We are pleased continue our long relationship with the City and <br />appreciate this opportunity to present this Scope of Services for the Community Facilities Scoping Study. <br />It is understood that the City desires to develop plans and strategies for the replacement of several of its <br />significant community facilities. This scoping study will provide an analysis of the needs and definition of <br />the subsequent study that will provide detailed site analysis, preliminary building and site concepts <br />drawings, and the refinement of total project costs. <br /> <br />The Work Plan that follows identifies a series of three interactive workshops with a Steering Committee <br />comprised of staff, stakeholders, representatives of the Board, and others members as determined by <br />the City. <br /> <br />1.0 Data Gathering and Synthesis <br /> <br />The process is initiated with a thorough review of existing information that will provide critical project <br />background and understanding The Sports Management Group will analyze and synthesize existing <br />reports, certification submittal, public outreach findings, current participation data, use schedules, <br />operating budgets, space inventories and plans, public surveys, site options and plans, and other <br />pertinent documents provided by the City. In order to use the information gathered effectively, <br />this work will be completed prior to Workshop #1. <br /> <br />2.0 Market Study and Demographic Analysis <br /> <br />The Market Study will define the service area and identify the characteristics of the population residing <br />within that service area. This will include developing current and projected demographics using City, <br />Regional, and State sources. Demographic analysis will identify changes in age groupings, family <br />households, income, educational attainment, spending habits and other information that can be used <br />to project demand for specific programs and activities, participation in those programs and activities, <br />and market capture. Current trends and national and regional survey data will also be used to <br />estimate demand and participation frequencies. <br /> <br />3.0 Trends Analysis <br />Based on the finding of the Market Study and Demographic Analysis, The Sports Management Group will <br />prepare a Trends Analysis that will identify the factors that are likely to impact current and future demand, <br />programming, services, and use. The Trends Analysis will also include analysis and description of the <br />impact of these trends on facility planning and design. <br /> <br />II <br />The Sports <br />. ~ Management Group <br />
