NO STRIKE <br /> <br />The Association, its members and representatives, agree that it and they will not <br />engage in, authorize, sanction, or support any strike, slowdown, stoppage of work, <br />curtailment of production, concerted refusal of overtime work, refusal to operate <br />designated ,equipment (provided such equipment is safe and sound) or to perform <br />customary duties; and neither the Association nor any representatives thereof shall <br />engage in job action for the purpose of effecting changes in the directives or decisions <br />of management of the City, not to effect a change of personnel or operations of <br />management or of employees not covered by this MOU. <br /> <br />SECTION 7. PAY <br /> <br />7.1 Salary Increases <br /> <br />7.1.1 Effective with the fi rst full pay period begi nning on or after <br />September 1, 2008, salaries shall be calculated by comparing the total <br />compensation rates of Police Officers in Redwood City to the mean or <br />median, whichever is greater, plus .8% of Police Officers in the <br />following listed cities: Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Mateo, South <br />San Francisco, Union City, Milpitas and Santa Clara. Based on this <br />formula, for the first full pay period beginning on or after September <br />1, 2008, the percent increase will be 4.39%. <br /> <br />Effective the first full pay period that begins on or after September 1 <br />in each subsequent year of this agreement, salary increases will be <br />tied to median or mean, whichever is greater, of the salary survey <br />market as allowed for in Sections 7.1.1 through 7.1.5 of the current <br />MOU. If Police Officers in Redwood City are less than 3% below the <br />mean or median, whichever is greater, they shall receive a 3% salary <br />increase. <br /> <br />7.1.2 The comparative calculation shall include top step base salary, <br />employee PERS payments, educational incentives, and health and <br />welfare contributions. <br /> <br />7.1.3 In the event one or more of the above listed comparative cities is in <br />labor negotiations due to the expiration of their labor MOU and does not <br />have salary data available as of September 1 in each year of this <br />agreement, the total compensation factor for those cities shall be equal <br />to the Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers for the San <br />Francisco/San Jose area for the preceding fiscal year. This factor shall <br />be no less than 4% nor greater than 7% should the C. P.1. fall below or <br />exceed these percentages. <br /> <br />7.1.4 The City shall implement the results of the September 1, 2008, <br />September 1, 2009, and September 1, 2010, survey effective the first <br />full pay period beginning on or after September 1, 2008, September 1, <br />2009, and September 1, 2010 respectively. <br /> <br />6 <br />
