To share historicai public art information (Redwood City and other cities}; <br /> 2. ldentify how public ar� relates to andlor supports City Council priorities; <br /> 3. Share the CCC public art goals and process (Attachment 1}; <br /> 4. Determine what suppo�t, both financia{ and community is available for public art; <br /> 5. Discuss the Ci#y Counci!'s inferests and desires as it relates#o public art and <br /> identify next steps. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The CCC estabtished in Ordinance l49�, cansists of seven members, appointed by the <br /> City Council for terms af four years each. Section 2.113 of the City Code describes the <br /> duties of the Commission, which include recommenda#ions to the City Council <br /> regarding: <br /> • The estab(ishment of programs stimulating and encouraging the developmen# <br /> and maintenance o#the perfocming and visual arts in the City and to review <br /> periodically such pragrams as are so established; <br /> • The establishment of programs memorializing or giving recagnition to matters of <br /> cultural significance in #he City and to review periodicaliy such programs as are <br /> so established; <br /> • The removal, refocation, or alteration of existing works of art or items af cul#ural <br /> sign�cance in the possession of the city; <br /> . The acquisition by the City of any work of art or item of cultural sign�cance and <br /> the proposed location thereof; <br /> • The aesthetics o€the design and site development of any building, monument, or <br /> other stnrcture to be constructed or acquired by the City; <br /> . • Any matter affecting the beauty and cufture of the City. <br />
