Council asked questions about various projects such as the bleacher project at Hawes Park and whether it would make it in 2009-10, and was told it is in the works with many considerations including resurfacing of the playfield at this location. The levy FEMA compliance issue and costs was also discussed, and was told the funding is for the startup, operating and maintenance of the levy so the City is in compliance. Vice Mayor Howard also asked what is happening with the Bradford project and Council members asked about conversion of Kaiser lot and would this happen sooner or later. Pat Webb, Housing Coordinator, spoke on the status of Bradford housing in wanting a "clean site" before they moving to the Request For Proposal phase. She stated the Kaiser piece would require further talks with Kaiser. . Council asked about the Hoover Field replacement and also asked for further context on improvements upcoming, other than just the resources and monies needed, and whether they could include opportunities on Main Street. Mr. Vorametsanti commented on the deterioration of the field and the need for replacement and the previous manufacturer's warranty on the site. Council asked questions about the archway and parking, the use statistics for Hoover field and the Park Feasibility Study. Mayor Foust thanked the community for the vote on the UUT, and she explained how this money is used for capital improvement. Council asked questions about piping and whether there.would be a leap in the technology for sewer and water so that more could be done with less money, and was told they are doing the best they can to use the best materials and specifications for long-term feasibility. Recommendation: Review the proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget for Fiscal Years 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 for consistency with Council priorities. Provide direction to staff on desired adjustments such that the final recommended CIP may be considered during formal budget review scheduled in June, 2008. 9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST A.
