<br />1 0/27/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14903 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE TERMS OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES AND THE BAY <br />AREA CLEAN WATER AGENCIES FOR PROPOSITION 50 CHAPTER 8 <br />GRANT FUNDING AND AMENDING THE 2008-09 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT <br />PROGRAM BUDGET TO REFLECT GRANT FUNDING FOR THE RECYCLED <br />WATER PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $972,800 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ("City") has been an Affiliate Member of Bay Area <br />Clean Water Agencies (BACWA) since April 18, 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, in June 2006, the City, in partnership with other Bay Area water agencies <br />submitted a consolidated Step 2 grant application to the California Department of Water <br />Resources (DWR) and State Water Resources Control Board to obtain an Integrated Regional <br />Water Management Implementation Grant pursuant to the Water Security, Clean Drinking <br />Water, Coastal and Beach Protection Act of 2002 (California Water Code Section 79560 et <br />seq.), for the Redwood City Recycled Water project; and <br />WHEREAS, BACWA was the grant applicant on behalf of the participating water <br />agencies and would be the contracting entity to execute and administer the grant agreement <br />with DWR; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 9, 2007, BACWA received notice of a conditional grant award from <br />DWR; and <br />WHEREAS, the participating Bay Area water agencies, which are considered local <br />project sponsors under the grant agreement, must provide notice to DWR that individual <br />agencies receiving grants are aware of and intend to comply with the terms of the DWR grant <br />agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the DWR grant will contribute $972,800 to the City's Recycled Water <br />Project, Bid Package 7; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 21, 2008, the City Council approved its Fiscal Year 2008-09 <br />budget; and <br /> <br />A TTY/RESO/RESO.1864 <br />102108 <br /> <br /># 14903 <br />Formerly Muff # 505 <br />
