All bids received were less than <br />$100,000.00. Staff has revised the engineer's estimate from $111,000.00 to <br />$87,000.00. Staff recommends that Council approve the contract documents and <br />authorize staff to offer this project for informal bidding. <br /> <br />Staff requests Council's approval of the contract documents to provide Council an <br />opportunity to review the design of the proposed improvements. The proposed <br />improvements are designed to calm traffic and facilitate pedestrian crossing at the <br />intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Clinton Street. Improvements include <br />enhancement of an existing pedestrian crossing with pedestrian warning signs, concrete <br />bulb-outs, street lights, and a pedestrian activated flashing beacon system. Please see <br />Attachment 1. <br /> <br />AL TERNA TlVES <br />Council may choose not to approve contract documents or this project for informal <br />bidding. Council may direct staff to award this project to W.
