<br />SECTION 02540 <br />SLURRY SEAL <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 SCOPE <br /> <br />A. This specification covers the materials, equipment, construction and procedures <br />for furnishing and applying slurry seal. In general, slurry seal shall conform to <br />the requirements of Sections 37-1 "Seal Coats," and 37-2 "Slurry Seal" of the <br />Standard Specifications, except as provided herein. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 GENERAL <br /> <br />A. The materials used shall conform to Section 37-2.02 "Materials" of the Standard <br />Specifications, July 1992, with the exceptions noted in these Special Provisions. <br /> <br />2.02 MATERIALS/MIX DESIGN / TESTING <br /> <br />A. Latex Asphaltic Emulsion. Latex asphalt emulsion shall be a quick setting type. <br />Grade QS1 H anionic or Grade CQS1 H cationic, conforming to Section 94. This <br />emulsion shall be homogeneous and show no separation after thorough mixing. <br />It shall break and set on the aggregate within five (5) minutes and be ready for <br />cross-traffic within five to thirty minutes.
