Construction Improvement Agreement and Revocable Encroachment Permit - <br />579 California Way. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve and authorize, by motion, <br />1. An agreement between the City and George Bechwati for proposed <br />construction improvements at 579 California Way, and <br />2. a revocable encroachment permit for work proposed within the public right of <br />way at the same address. Minute Order 08-160 <br /> <br />G. Digital parking meters - extension of one-year standard warranty. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve, by motion, the purchase of the proposed one year extended standard <br />warranty package offered by Digital Payment Technologies for 42 downtown digital <br />parking meters, and authorize the City Manager to approve and execute the <br />extended standard warranty package in future years, not to exceed $50,000.00 for <br />anyone year. Minute Order 08-161 <br /> <br />Council asked about the ongoing commitment to the new meters, what has changed, and <br />what is being done to push the vendor to make changes with regards to the problems <br />encountered. Acting Community Development Director, Chu Chang, stated they will not <br />be paying the contractor/supplier the agreed upon monthly fee to maintain the meters and <br />software until they can fix the ongoing problems. <br /> <br />M/S Bain/lra to approve item 6.1 G.
