<br />5. Customer site retrofits for each existing private or public site with a landscape
<br />irrigation meter. Retrofits will occur as each property owner ag rees to convert to
<br />recycled water for landscape irrigation and industrial uses.
<br />Status: Retrofit Bid Package 1 (18 commercial sites in the Redwood Shores area)
<br />was 1000/0 constructed in time to meet the demands of the 2007 irrigation season.
<br />Retrofit Bid Package 2 is 95% completed and is scheduled for full completion in time
<br />to meet the demands of the 2008 irrigation season.
<br />
<br />Bid Package 8 (see attached map) is the ninth distribution pipeline construction project.
<br />The work of this project will connect the transmission piping system in the Redwood
<br />Shores area to the transmission piping system in the Seaport area and completes
<br />Phase I of the Recycled Water transmission piping system to potentially serve all
<br />Redwood City customers east of Highway 101. Piping will be extended along East
<br />Bayshore Road, Bair Island Road, Redwood Creek, Highway 101, and Maple Street to
<br />deliver recycled water to the Seaport area. More than 1,840 linear feet of PVC
<br />(Polyvinyl Chloride) and welded steel pipe, 24 inches in diameter, will be constructed in
<br />approximately five months.

<br />received, staff believes that the low bid of $949,450.00 is reasonable and responsive,
<br />and recommends awarding the contract to Peak Engineering, Inc.
