6.G. - Page 1 of 7 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: February 22, 2021 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Summary vacation of a sanitary sewer and storm drainage easement on the property at 3558 Jefferson <br />Avenue <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt Resolution of the City Council of the City of Redwood City Vacating a Public Service Easement <br />Located at 3558 Jefferson Avenue in the City of Redwood City Pursuant to Part 3 of Division 9 of the <br />California Streets and Highways Code. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The property owners have requested that the City vacate its interest in a public service easement (sanitary <br />sewer and storm drainage) as they wish to construct improvements inside the current easement area. <br />There are no public utilities in the easement area and the City would relinquish any potential maintenance <br />responsibilities for maintaining the easement. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The ten -foot wide easement for sanitary sewers and storm drainage was originally dedicated as part of <br />Highlands of Emerald Lake Subdivision One. The offer for public use was accepted by the Board of <br />Supervisors of San Mateo County on January 11, 1926.
