6.J. - Page 2 of 86 <br />On December 11, 2020, staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids (NIB) that was published in the San Mateo Daily <br />Journal and posted on the City's website. Staff also notified three prospective bidders of the solicitation <br />and the NIB was listed on ConstructConnect.com, a subscription based website that informs contractors <br />of open commercial construction projects throughout the United States and Canada. There was one bid <br />received by the January 8, 2021 submission deadline. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Pacific Coast Sales & Service, Inc. dba Pacific Coast Trane Service (Trane) was the sole bidder, with a total <br />bid amount of $470,379. Based on past HVAC projects administered by the City this bid amount is <br />proportionate to the scope. Trane systems have proven reliable as they <br />are already installed at City Hall, Fire Station No. 9, Fair Oaks Community Center, and the Main Library. <br />Implementing a compatible system at Red Morton will allow staff to monitor and control systems at all of <br />these facilities through the use of a single digital interface, creating greater efficiencies for the City.
