<br />M/S Ira/Aguirre to approve the staff recommendation. Motion carries unanimously. <br />M/S Hartnett/Ira to approve the resolution. Motion carries unanimously. <br /> <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 39-2008 and 40-2008. Council may direct staff to act <br />on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority <br />Focus available in City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br />B. Ongoing Matters: <br /> <br />Mayor Foust passed on to Acting Community Development Director Chang a token of <br />appreciation that Council Member Ira had given her. <br />1. San Mateo County Jail Site <br />City Manager Ingram reported on a recent meeting he attended on the topic. He <br />suggested another meeting be called between the Mayor, the Vice Mayor and the Board <br />of Supervisors Committee to understand the criteria to be used on possible site selection. <br />2. Housing Policy Follow-Up to City Council <br />Mayor Foust referred to the report in the agenda packet. Two Council Members thought <br />this process was appropriate and another Council Member would like this model <br />extended to other areas such as the redevelopment. <br />c. Council Reports on Committee Meetings Attended. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust - Mayor Foust announced that the comment period for the Transportation <br />Authority Strategic Plan is open. She also acknowledged receipt of other reports such as <br />the San Mateo County Transit report, and the Caltrain Board Report. <br />Council Member Bain - reported on attending a meeting of the C/CAG (County/City <br />Association of Government) Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee and he provided an <br />update on the signage being considered. <br />Council Member Hartnett - reported on the Advance Life Support Joint Powers Authority <br />Board he serves on. He announced that the current countywide agreement will expire in <br />one year and the matter will first go to that Board but will need to be ratified by each City. <br />Council Member Pierce - reported on attending the most recent C/CAG and C/CMAC <br />(City and County Association of Governments and Congestion Management and <br />Environmental Quality Committee) where the San Mateo County Energy strategy was <br />reviewed and this will come to Council in the near future. <br />Council Member Aguirre - reported that the final report on 2020 Peninsula Gateway <br />Corridor Study is out and it will come to Council in the near future.
