" ,

City of Redwood City
February 6, 2009 (Proposal No. 09.027)

Estimated
Task Description Task
Budget
1. Data Review and Pre-Field Project Startup $500
Exploration Activities Review existing geotechnical and geologic information
Obtain drilling permit from San Mateo County Environmental Health
Department, USA site, prepare Health & Safety Plan, and coordinate
site access with the City (these costs are included in our separate
environmental study proposal)
2. Subsurface Exploration (Field) Conduct 3 test borings by the conventional drilling method $4,700
Site access control
Collect soil samples, perform groundwater measurements; field
density test
3. Laboratory Testing Conduct geotechnical laboratory testing $2,400
4. Geotechnical Engineering Perform geotechnical engineering analyses, including settlement $4,300
Analysis, and Prepare Report and footing capacity (bearing and lateral capacity) analyses as
appropriate
Develop geotechnical engineering and foundation design
recommendations
Prepare a geotechnical study report for the proposed residential
development
Total for Study and Report $11,900
(Time and Materials)

Our cost estimate is based on our understanding that the project will consist of a typical
residential development, and the aforementioned scope of services will be adequate for the
project. For cost estimate purposes, we assumed that significant liquefaction settlement will not
be calculated to occur at this site; and that the project structural engineer will not require a site-
specific response analysis for this project. In the event such site-specific response spectra are
ultimately required, an additional fee will be required to perform a site-specific response spectra
analysis. Fugro can provide a cost estimate for these services upon request.

Our proposal cost also assumes that our environmental study will be performed
concurrently with this geotechnical study, and the costs of field work co-ordination, scheduling,
permitting, and drummed soil cutting testing and disposal are included in our separate
environmental study proposal. Additionally, our cost estimate for performing our field
exploration program assumes that the work will be conducted during the weekday during
daylight hours, and that the project is subject to California prevailing wage laws.

G;\PROPOSED WORK\2009\09.027 -<ill HELLER ST.
