<br />budget cuts. City Manager Ingram proposed bringing this back sometime in mid to late <br />April. Mayor Foust announced that the Chair and Vice Chair of the Port Commission <br />requested a meeting with her and Vice Mayor Howard. Such meeting will take place in the <br />coming weeks. Mayor Foust asked for public comment. <br /> <br />Mike Mahoney representing Hudson Baylor Corporation referred to an impending decision <br />on the SBWMA (South Bayside Waste Management Authority) facility operator. He said <br />Hudson Baylor is one of the two in the short list. He wanted to share data regarding that <br />company's environmental record. Mayor Foust intervened asking Mr. Mahoney to save <br />his comments for an upcoming meeting since this was not related to the budget. She <br />acknowledged receiving his letter and welcomed a follow up communication from him. <br /> <br />B. Dates for Budget Consideration. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve the dates for formal action of the budget. <br /> <br />M/S Aguirre/Pierce to approve item B. Motion carries unanimously by electronic vote. <br />Mayor Foust read the dates agreed upon Minute Order 09-043 <br /> <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />City Advocate Weekly Issue No. 7-2009 and 8-2009. Council may direct staff to <br />act on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority <br />Focus available in City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br />B. Council Reports on Committee Meetings Attended. <br /> <br />1. Council Member Aguirre - Announced attending the last Chamber of <br />Commerce Education meeting where a representative from RAFT (Resource <br />Area for Teachers) stated that this company is coming to Redwood City. This <br />company collects recyclables and reuses those to create teaching materials. <br />She also announced that the Sequoia Awards will have its first inductee <br />ceremony at Carrington Hall on March 2ih. <br />2. Council Member Bain - Attended a meeting of C/CAG, and the CPAC group <br />liked the name "Complete Streets Committee" and wanted to rename itself <br />using this new name that the City Council had approved. He thanked Susan <br />Wheeler, with Community Development, for her recent presentation to that <br />body. <br />3. Council Member Hartnett - Announced that SamTrans had its Budget Study <br />Session and it was quite sobering. He added that SamTrans has a structural <br />imbalance and the financial situation can be a real challenge. <br />4. Council Member Ira - no comment. <br />5.
