<br />6.3 Section - Ordinance (First Reading/Introduction) <br /> <br />A. Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map Ordinance. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Introduce the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map Ordinance for first <br />reading on March 9, 2009. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA ADOPTING AND <br />DESIGNATING VERY HIGH FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONES IN THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS DESIGNATED ON THE "REDWOOD CITY - FIRE HAZARD MAP" <br /> <br />2. Schedule a public hearing and second reading on the Very High Fire Hazard <br />Severity Zone Map Ordinance for March 23,2009. <br /> <br />3. Adopt the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map Ordinance on March 23, <br />2009. Minute Order 09-041 <br /> <br />6.4 Section - Claims and Warrants <br /> <br />A. Approve warrants dated through March 9, 2009 and usual and necessary <br />payments through March 23, 2009. Minute Order 09-042 <br /> <br />................................................................................. <br /> <br />7. STAFF REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Affirmation of City Council Direction for preparation of Fiscal Year 2009/10 Budget. <br /> <br />City Manager Ingram reiterated that staff was confirming Council's direction. Mayor Foust <br />asked that Council confirm the 13 items listed on the staff report. Council discussed and <br />concurred with the information captured by staff. In addition, Council wanted these items <br />added: <br />1) Make mention of the current vacancy program established by Department Heads <br />as a cost savings approach for current year (item 14) <br />2) Reiterate that there is a basic fiscal assumption that programs and initiatives need <br />to be aligned with resources available (item 15) <br />Council discussed how to sunset certain obsolete programs or initiatives. City Manager <br />Ingram said that he understood the direction to be to come back to Council when and if <br />something is not aligned with current resources and Council's direction. Council also <br />discussed the need to disseminate Council's direction to the various Boards, Commissions <br />and Committees. City Manager Ingram addressed the question by saying that he will rely <br />on Department Heads and Staff Liaisons to disseminate the information. It was <br />mentioned that these bodies should receive a packet with information not only on <br />Council's direction but also Council's Strategic Initiatives. <br /> <br />One Council Member inquired about Port revenues and he asked for a memo on the topic. <br />He also asked for an analysis regarding the number of employees added since the last <br /> <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />MARCH 9, 2009 <br />PAGE 4 <br />
