(Action H-7, Action H-8) Meeting the housing needs of all residents of the community requires the identification of adequate sites for all types of housing. By capitalizing on the variety of options available through the New General Plan and continuing to maintain an inventory of potential sites, the City will ensure that adequate residentially zoned and mixed-use sites are available to facilitate the development of a variety of housing types. Policy H.3.1 Identify adequate housing sites through appropriate land use, zoning, and precise plan designations to accommodate the Citys share of regional housing needs. (Action H-10) Policy H.3.2 Facilitate a variety of housing choices in Redwood City, offering diversity in types, prices, ownership, and sizes, including options for convenience living, mixed-use housing, transit-oriented developments, and live-work housing. (Action H-IO, Action H-12,) Policy H.3.3 Encourage and provide opportunities for the development of adequate housing for the City's special needs groups, including large families, single-parent headed households, the elderly, the disabled, and those in need of emergency shelter and transitional housing. (Action H-12, Action H-13, Action H-21, Action H-22) Policy H.3.4 Work with major employers within Redwood City and nonprofit organizations to support the development of workforce housing opportunities.
