While we are not required by regulatory agencies <br />to do this, there is always a potential for a machine to malfunction, have operator error or most <br />common, to have an act of vandalism. <br /> <br />With the propane as the power source and the harvesters hydraulic fluid being a material that is <br />safe for food preparation and safe for aquatic organisms. Waterworks Industries is proud to be <br />the only firm of our type that we are aware of that has taken the financial steps to have our <br />equipment totally green. Redwood City can be assured that it will never have a problem with <br />any petroleum spills or discharge problems associated with the Regional Water Quality Board if <br />Waterworks Industries, Inc is selected to continue providing services to Redwood City. <br /> <br />E) CHEMICAL APPLICATIONS <br /> <br />After a survey has been completed, if it is determined that an application of chemicals is <br />necessary, the communication protocol in section G will be followed and then the chemicals will <br />be applied. <br /> <br />Waterworks Industries has three staff, (Rich Carnation, Jason Young and Sara Burnsed) licensed <br />with the Department of Pesticide Regulations, all three are current and are being renewed at the <br />years end. Enclosed please find a copy of the current license validity report from the Department <br />of Pesticide Regulation. In addition to the above listed staff, Waterworks Industries other staff <br />members have assisted and made thousands of chemical application under Waterworks <br />Industries direct supervision. <br /> <br />1) ALGAECIDE <br /> <br />The lagoon management plan calls for the algaecidelbacticide Earth Tec or Cutrine if Earth Tec <br />is not available. Earth Tec and was approved for its low copper concentrations and bacticide <br />properties. Waterworks Industries staffing and equipment for chemical applications include the <br />chemical Earth Tec, boat with motor, spray equipment, one chemical applicator and one staff <br />technician. <br /> <br />2) HERBICIDE <br /> <br />The lagoon management plan calls for the herbicide REWARD. Reward was approved for the <br />control of Widgeon Grass in the areas of the lagoon where the harvester is inefficient or unable <br />to harvest the Widgeon Grass.
