<br />(July 4 from 9:00 AM to 12.30 PM) <br />Main 81. from Broadway to Marshall St. <br />Jefferson Ave. from Broadway to Marshall 81. <br /> <br />..P~ 1 B <br />AttachmFIHgt? 13 <br /> <br />Traffic Diversion - Parade and Lineup area: <br />To reduce traffic congestion and to ensure the safety of local residents and parade participants, the <br />PCA is requesting the temporary closure on July 4tli of the left tunl lane from west bound Whipple to <br />Winslow from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm and the left turn lane from west bound Whipple to Arguello <br />frOIn 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. The peA will setup and remove appropriate signs, barricades, and <br />traffic cones. <br /> <br />Use of Pedestrian Barriers: <br />Request through the County OES the use of the steel pedestrian barriers for traffic control and <br />spectator safety. The PCA will provide a list of times, locations, and quantity of barriers needed for <br />the Parade and Lineup areas. <br /> <br />Veterans Blvd - traffic diversion <br /> <br />North Bound Traffic wi/I be diverted from Veterans Blvd to alternate streets during the parade. <br />Specific times and alternate streets for this diversion to be determined by Police Department <br /> <br />Special Fire Lane on the Parade Route at Bradford & Main <br /> <br />During the parade no vehicles except for emergency fire or medical will be permitted to cross this <br />illtersection. The Fire Department requires clear access through the intersection of Bradford alld <br />Main during the parade if all emergency response cO/ldi/ion occurs. To insure that fire <br />equipme"t call cross the parade route, the peA will do the following: <br /> <br />1. Notify all parade entries in writing and on Parade day that a separation of 75 feet will be <br />maintained between units at that intersection. <br />2. Parade entries will be stopped prior to crossing the intersection if there is insufficient space <br />between them and the proceeding unit to completely pass through the intersection. <br />3. Entries containing multiple units may be separated as needed when crossing that intersection. <br />Any need for unit separation will be determined by parade supervisors on-site. <br />4. The PCA will provide a senior parade supervisor on Main Street to monitor the flow of units <br />through the intersection. <br />5. At the first activation of any combination of flashing lights, sirens, or air horn, the parade <br />will be halted and all participants and/or vehicles will be cleared from the intersection. <br />6. No spectators will be allowed to be in the Bradford Street crosswalks at any time during the <br />parade. <br /> <br />The Fire Department will notify staff personnel, visitors, and guests attending the Annual Pancake <br />Breakfast to limit all non-essential use of this intersection during t.he Fun Run and parade. <br /> <br />Access to the County Jail during the parade <br />The access route to the County Jail through the Parade and lineup area will be from Whipple at <br />Winslow, down Winslow to the County building entrance. <br /> <br />peA 2009 July 4th Event Plan <br /> <br />Page 4 of 10 <br /> <br />Revised 3/10//2009 <br />
