Approval of Water Utility Service Rates and Charges. <br /> <br />Justin Ezell, Public Works Water Superintendent, was present to give report Staff <br />mentioned that this matter had been vetted through the Council's Utilities Committee. He <br />stated that four written protests were received and two email comments. Mayor Foust <br />received one phone call regarding this matter and the caller opposed the increase. <br />Mayor Foust opened the Public Hearing. There was no public comment <br />MIS IralPierce to close the public hearing. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />MIS Hartnett/Pierce to introduce the ordinance. Motion carried unanimously by <br />electronic vote. <br />Council Member Ira explained that the rates could have been increased even more but <br />that was not the recommendation based on the economic climate. <br />MIS Harnett/Bain to adopt the resolution. Motion carried unanimously by electronic <br />vote. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Introduce Ordinance amending Redwood City Code - Section 38.5 - Water <br />Basic Service Charge. Minute Order 09-105 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 38.5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY RELATING TO WATER SERVICE CHARGES AND FEES <br /> <br />2. Adopt a resolution amending Section 3 of the Rules and Regulations of the <br />Redwood City Water Department (Public Works Services Department) related <br />to water rates. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14940 AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THE RULES AND <br />REGULATIONS OF THE REDWOOD CITY WATER DEPARTMENT (PUBLIC WORKS <br />SERVICES DEPARTMENT) RELATING TO WATER RATES; AND RESCINDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14913 <br /> <br />C. Amendment of Sewer Service Charges. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Convene Public Hearing and Introduce Ordinance Amending Redwood City Code <br />- Section 27.100 - I ncrease the Basic Monthly Sewer Service Charges from <br />$41.01 to $44.70.
