The lack of parking and the hours are the
obvious reasons why this is unacceptable. Also the proximity to families'
homes and to Woodside Terrace doesn't seem appropriate either.
I think that this would be a problem for the area.

We living south of Woodside Rd. already get to deal with the Hanky Panky
clientele and some rather creepy customers at the hotels along this portion
of El Camino. Ilm tired of police sirens and helicopters over my condo
building and the loud, scary sounding fights in the parking lot of the Days
Inn (in particular!). I think we residents also should have some rights
when it comes to our safety and the noise level in our area.

At present, I don't even feel particularly safe walking to work 2 miles
away in downtown Redwood City because of some of the people walking
(staggering) by or driving by. Our part of Redwood City should not be a
magnet for the undesirable members of normal, law-abiding society.

As far as Target selling alcohol: I don't want to see this approved by
Council either. I think there are enough locations in the area where
people can buy alcohol. I appreciate the convenience of the idea, and I do
a lot of grocery shopping in this specific Target store, but I just don't
see the need for having another outlet for alcohol. Maybe most of the
purchasers at this store will be regular neighborhood shoppers, but the
alcohol will also draw a clientele that we may regret having in this
"family" frequented business. I think the incidents involving shoplifting
would dramatically increase--both by adults and youth. This is a bad idea
for our neighborhood Target!

Thank you for asking for your time--Donna DeKom, 601 Leahy Street, Redwood
City

1
