Staff attributes this variance to a <br />highly competitive bidding environment. Based upon the bids received, staff believes <br />that the low bid of $578,096.39 is reasonable and recommends awarding the contract to <br />G. Bortolotto & Co., Inc. <br /> <br />AL TERNA TIVES <br />Council may choose not to award the contract which could result in the forfeiture of <br />ARRA federal grant funding. Continued deterioration of the roadway surface will result <br />in higher repair costs. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The general work of this project, including staff costs, is fully funded by the ARRA grant <br />which totals $736,000.00. <br /> <br />~~~ <br />M.
