3. By motion, direct the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis with <br /> respect to Ordinance No. 2346. Minute Order 09-149 <br /> 4. By motion, authorize the Mayor and Vice Mayor to select such persons as <br /> necessary to sign the ballot arguments in favor of Ordinance No. 2346. <br /> Minute Order 09-150 <br /> Mr. Ponty, Director of Finance and Financial Planning, presented the report and said that <br /> the Chamber of Commerce is in support of this action. One Council Member asked if the <br /> committee considered applying this tax to gross receipts. Council Member Hartnett, as a <br /> member of the committee, explained that while this was considered it was not found an <br /> appropriate burden to place on the business community. It was also explained that this <br /> would entail businesses having to open up their books and disclosing additional <br /> information. Council Member Hartnett thanked Mr. Ingram and Ponty for bringing this forth <br /> to the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Ponty explained some of the outreach he and Mr. <br /> Ingram conducted. Mayor Foust thanked the committee for its work and she appreciated <br /> the support offered by the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> M/S Pierce/Howard to introduce Ordinance No. 2346 adding Sections 32.156, 32.157, <br /> 32.158, 32.159, and 32.160 to Division 6 of Article V of Chapter 32 of the Redwood City <br /> Municipal Code with respect to a Business License Tax.
