The <br /> Developer is seeking fand use entifilements including a General P{an Amendment, a <br /> rezoning of land, a specific plan and a deve[opment agreement. The magnitude of this <br /> application and potentia! impiications for Redwood City are significant and wiil require <br /> speciaiized iegal serWices and review. This application comes while the Ci#y is engaged <br /> in bringing forth a new General Plan far Redwood Gity, which itself is requiring <br /> signi�icant legal review. <br /> Under these c�rcumstances, City staff and the Developer have discussed and <br /> negatia�ed a lega� services reimbursement agreement, which pro�ides for the De�eloper <br /> to ad�ance funds to the City �o pay the reasonable costs of specia! counse� legal <br /> services related to the Project. Reimbursemen�wou[d be subject#o establishmen# of an <br /> annual budget and quarterly budget reviews for [egal costs associated with the City's <br /> special legal counsel's work on the Pro�ect. The term o# the Ag�eement wii� extend to <br /> December 31, 2411. <br /> With respect to the new General Plan, the law firm of Jarvis, Fay, Doporto and Gibson �s <br /> providing special legal services at the negotiated hourly rates of $25� for par�ners, $210 <br /> for associa�es and $115 for paralegals/legai assistants. To ensure consistency in the <br /> reu�e4v an�+ �rocess�ng of both the Genera! Plan and the Project's app�ication, it is <br /> recommended �ha�the Jarvis �ay et al law firm be retained for both assignments. <br />
