The crowding and loss of space,
light, quiet, privacy & visual serenity suffered by back and side neighbors is unimaginable! Not to
mention the stress on parking, traffic, shopping, walking, and every other aspect of life in town.
Unbridled ADU policies pose a very real THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY through increased crime
against property and life (I see the constant reports on Ring), vermin, delapidation, fire hazard,
pedestrian endangerment, and further straining our precious water, sewer, power, police, fire, and
other essential city services.
Striving developers and homeowners with the means will CROWD IN extra construction for their
own benefit, adding relatives or long-term and vacation rentals, for HIGHER PROPERTY
VALUES at the expense of their neighbors' properties and quality of life.
>These concerns are far too serious to be dismissed as simple NIMBYISM! All this will lead to
the PERMANENT GHETTOIZATION of neighborhoods under your care!
Our fight should be against the state's overreach into our backyards, not against our own city council.
Please do EVERYTHING you can to RESTRICT ADU's!
And then join with us and other Bay Area cities to PUSH BACK against such invasive regulations
from Sacramento! We residents did not ask for nor cause exploding businesses in our area, and
should not be punished for it!
