Exercise caution when <br />opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders. <br />March 4, 2021 <br />Dear Mayor and City Council Members, <br />Summar <br />Please continue to allow short term rentals in ADUs constructed before <br />January 1, 2020, and "grandfather in" existing ADU owners to continue having <br />this essential income source to help us make our financial ends meet. <br />Detail: <br />I am a Redwood City homeowner since 2016, single father of two. <br />I have continued significant concerns about the ADU legislation under consideration, <br />which in past versions has included a ban on ALL short term rentals of ADUs in <br />Redwood City. <br />When I purchased my home in 2016, there were NO regulations prohibiting short term <br />ADU rentals, and I included this short term rental income in my calculations on <br />making financial ends meet. <br />Homeowners like myself depend on this short term ADU rental income to pay for <br />OUR housing expenses, mortgages and taxes. <br />Allowing the rental of my ADU 2)nl [ on a LONG term basis would be financially <br />painful, is an unnecessary choice, and will cut my rental income by 50% or more. <br />I was unemployed for 7 months during 2020 due to Coronavirus. During that time, my <br />ADU rental income was not supplemental income, it was not "nice to have" income, it <br />
