Sample sorting <br />. Sample disposal <br />. Data management <br /> <br />The above field procedures or steps are described in more detail following the <br />explanation of roles. Each step is the responsibility of a specific person or group of <br />people as follows: <br /> <br />. sampling crew manager-responsible for selecting samples, working with <br />Operator and the sampling crew, quality control, and compliance with Facility <br />regulations. <br /> <br />. sampling crew-responsible for sorting samples. <br /> <br />. MRF manager-responsible for coordinating with the sampling crew manager. <br /> <br />. scale house staff-responsible for selecting vehicles, distributing sample <br />placards, and directing drivers towards the sampling area. <br /> <br />. tipping house staff-responsible for identifying loads potentially contaminated <br />beyond the acceptable threshold, creating a designated sampling and sorting <br />area, and ensuring segregation of selected loads in that area. <br /> <br />. loader operator(s)-responsible for segregating the selected load from other <br />loads in the designated sampling and sorting area. <br /> <br />. project manager-responsible for managing the sampling process. <br /> <br />. facility manager-responsible for managing day-to-day operations at the <br />Designated Transfer and Processing Facility <br /> <br />. Contractor- responsible for informing the scale house staff of load origin and <br />type and for passing sample placards to the sampling crew manager <br /> <br />Advanced preparation for regularly scheduled testing <br />Before each sampling day, the sampling crew manager will contact the MRF manager <br />and require the MRF manager to remind the scale house staff, tipping house staff, <br />loader operator(s), Contractor, and all other affected staff of the sampling plan. The <br />project manager will also require the facility manager to provide the site's safety <br />standards and disclose if any additional safety training will be required on site. In <br />addition, the project manager will obtain and inspect all safety equipment and all sorting <br />equipment (see list of supplies in Appendix 3), and develop and print all daily sampling <br />quotas, vehicle selection sheets, placards, and tally sheets prior to beginning each <br />sampling event.
