6.B. - Page 1 of 37 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: March 22, 2021 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Award contract to Fehr & Peers for the Citywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan and the Vision Zero <br />Action Plan <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement for services with Fehr & Peers for the <br />Citywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan and the Vision Zero Action Plan in the amount of $140,000, <br />with additional optional community outreach tasks in an amount not to exceed $39,943, for a total <br />contract total of $179,943. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />Redwood City Moves ("RWCmoves"), the Citywide Transportation Plan, was adopted in 2018. RWCmoves <br />evaluated the existing transportation and mobility conditions in the city and identified projects and <br />programs to address deficiencies and to provide a connected and convenient transportation network for <br />all travel modes and all road users. One of the Tier 1 projects identified in RWCmoves is to develop a <br />Bicycle Master Plan and a Pedestrian Master Plan. The goal of this master plan is to identify and prioritize <br />active transportation projects based on factors such as safety, equity, access to transit, gap closure, and <br />ease of use for people of all ages and abilities. <br />The City Council adopted Redwood City's Strategic Plan with three top priorities: Housing, Transportation, <br />and Children & Youth, while promoting equity in all City activities.
