Period <br />of performance May 1, 2021 —April 30, 2024. <br />Tobacco Grant Program FY 2021-22 <br />The California Healthcare, Research and Prevention Tobacco Tax Act of 2016 (Prop 56) provides local <br />public agencies with funding to promote a healthier California by reducing illegal sales and marketing <br />of cigarettes and tobacco products, including e -cigarettes, to minors. The Office of the Attorney <br />General offers these funds annually to local law enforcement agencies through the California <br />Department of Justice Tobacco Grant Program. <br />Analysis: Anticipated open date March 2021. Expected award announcement June 2021. Period of <br />performance 2-3 years. <br />DOJ Related Grants <br />The Department of Justice administers a number of grant programs to benefit law enforcement and <br />public safety activities, to provide training and technical assistance and to implement programs that <br />improve the criminal, civil and juvenile justice systems. While the solicitation period is currently <br />closed it is expected to open again in the Spring 2021. <br />The COPS Hiring Program (CHP) <br />This program is a competitive solicitation, open to all state and local enforcement agencies with <br />primary law enforcement authority.
