6.H. - Page 1 of 35 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: March 22, 2021 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Waive second reading and adopt Zoning Ordinance amendments (Articles 31, 33, 36, 37, 45, 48) to <br />change the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) requirements <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Waive second reading and adopt Zoning Ordinance amendments to establish regulations to comply with <br />State law, and to address permitted ADU types, side and rear setbacks, floor area, lot coverage, a <br />maximum 20 -foot height for detached ADUs and attached ADUs within the rear setback area, short-term <br />rentals, and make miscellaneous amendments. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />On March 8, 2021, the City Council introduced (7-0) amendments to the Zoning Ordinance related to the <br />City's Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance. The March 8th staff report explaining the revisions as originally <br />proposed is attached to this report (Attachment B).
