Award contract to Fehr & Peers for the Citywide Bicycle and
Pedestrian Master Plan and the Vision Zero Action Plan
Date: Thursday, March 18, 20216:41:54 PM
CAUTION: This email originated from outside your organization. Exercise caution when
opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders.
Dear Councilmembers,
Please require Fehr & Peers to address the many substandard bicycle lanes in Redwood City.
Examples are:
bicycle lanes in the "door zone" of parked cars,
bicycle lanes partly in the gutter along raised curbs, and
bicycle lanes of substandard width.
Substandard bicycle lanes present obstacles and encourage behavior dangerous to bicyclists
and other road users.
If properly designed bicycle lanes are not feasible on a roadway, I recommend "sharrow" road
markings and "bicyclists have full use of lane" signage.
Regards,
Michael Nelson
Redwood Ci California 94062
mobile:
