6.D. - Page 1 of 15 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: March 22, 2021 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Agreement for emergency vehicle repair services with Golden State Emergency Vehicle Service, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, determine that due to the nature of the services, competitive bidding is not likely to serve the <br />best interests of the City or to result in the lowest price, and approve and authorize the City Manager to <br />execute a one-year agreement for services with Golden State Emergency Vehicle Service, Inc. for <br />emergency vehicle repair services in an amount not to exceed $50,000, including City Manager authority <br />to extend the agreement for two additional two-year terms, for a total contract amount not to exceed <br />$250,000 (requires 5 affirmative votes). <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />In October 2020, the Equipment Services Division (ESD) of the Public Works Services Department took <br />delivery of a new Aerial Fire Apparatus (Apparatus) from Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. (Pierce) of Appleton, <br />Wisconsin. The City Council approved this purchase in April 2019 from Pierce's local authorized dealer, <br />Golden State Fire Apparatus (Golden State FA), located in Sacramento, California.
