P2009.000.164 BKF Engineers April 15, 2009 Levee Improvements Adjacent to ,the San Carlos Airport Latest Revision June 30, 2009 PROPOSAL FOR GEOTECHNICAL EXPLORATION SERVICES - PHASE 2 Page 3 requested in providing geotechnical input to project specifications and in determining unit costs for engineering cost estimates. It is understood the City of Redwood City will limit ENGEO's and BKF Engineers' liability for damage due to professional negligence, acts, errors, omissions, breach of contract and consequential damages to an amount not to exceed an aggregate limit of $1,000,000. SCHEDULE Provided the field work included in Phase 1 has been completed, we expect that our Phase 2 services will commence immediately following your authorization and receipt of an agreement. The time to complete all portions of the geotechnical study including laboratory testing, analysis, and report preparation will be approximately 4 weeks from completion of the field work or Phase 2 authorization, whichever occurs latest. FEE ESTIJ\.1A TE We will provide our Phase 2 services to develop a geotechnical report providing conclusions, analysis, and recommendations for the proposed levee raise alternatives on a time-and-expense basis in accordance with our current fee schedule for an approximate fee of $31,150. If the scope and duration of these services change, a revision to our fee estimate may be required. We also suggest establishing a separate design-support consultation budget of $10,000 for as-requested consultation, reviews, and attendance at project team meetings; these design-support fees will also be invoiced on a time-and-expense basis in accordance with our current fee schedule.
