There are <br />existing regulations that are no longer applicable, that require updating due to changes in State law, or <br />that require process improvements. On July 21, 2020, the Planning Commission held a study session to <br />discuss potential amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, including child care -related changes and <br />miscellaneous zoning ordinance updates. At the study session, staff provided an overview of new State <br />law requirements and provided policy questions for discussion. Upon Planning Commission request, staff <br />has split these amendments into two separate agenda items: Miscellaneous updates (Zoning 2020) and <br />child care. This report addresses changes related to Zoning 2020. <br />On December 1, 2020, the Planning Commission considered the Zoning 2020 amendments with a focus <br />on permit applicability, housing related amendments, and minor revisions, including nonconforming <br />regulations, and accessory outdoor commercial uses, which were not previously discussed in the study <br />session.
