The implementation of both height -related <br />standards and additional regulations related to short-term rentals (generally prohibiting), and ordinance <br />effectiveness would not result in increases in density or intensity and would not be considered an <br />environmental impact, and as such would be covered under the "common sense exemption" (CEQA <br />Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3)). <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. On April 2, 2021, at least ten days before the hearing date, notice of the City <br />Council hearing was posted on the City website, placed in the San Mateo Daily Journal, emailed to an <br />interested parties list, and posted to www.redwoodcity.org/adu. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Adopt the ADU Ordinance with 2019 massing and privacy standards including the second story size <br />limitation to detached ADUs and limitation to second story plate height (Attachment B). As noted <br />above however, the second story size limitation would apply "above the ground floor" rather than <br />above a garage. <br />2.
