6.C. - Page 1 of 5 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: April 26, 2021 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Grant application and project approval for MTC's Safe & Seamless Mobility Quick Strike Program for the <br />Roosevelt Avenue Quick -build Traffic Calming Project <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the filing of a grant application for program funds available under MTC's <br />Safe & Seamless Mobility Quick Strike Program in the amount of $755,000, with a local match of $98,000, <br />and committing to completing the project if grant funding is awarded; and authorizing the City Manager <br />to execute related grant documents. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />On February 10, 2021, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) issued a one-time call for <br />nominations for the Safe and Seamless Quick Strike Program, asking Bay Area County Transportation <br />Agencies to submit project nomination letters to MTC for projects located within their counties, as well <br />as multi -county and regional projects. The program is to assist cities addressing the COVID-19 crisis <br />through quick -build projects. San Mateo County is expecting to receive $4 million through this funding <br />program.
