6.M. - Page 1 of 22 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: April 26, 2021 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Waive first reading and introduce an ordinance adopting local standards and procedures for the operation <br />of the two-year Temporary Recreational Vehicle Safe Parking Program <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Waive first reading and introduce an ordinance adopting local standards and procedures for the operation <br />of the two-year Temporary Recreational Vehicle Safe Parking Program. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Healthy Community for All <br />BACKGROUND <br />At its August 24, 2020 meeting, the City Council approved the establishment of a two year Temporary <br />Recreational Vehicle (RV) Safe Parking Program including: <br />• RV Parking Permits <br />• An off-street RV Safe Parking Site <br />• Outreach and Case Management Services to assist RV residents in transitioning to permanent <br />housing <br />On September 25, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2553, which expanded Government Code <br />8698.4, to provide, among other things, certain protections to all cities and counties against liability for <br />those homeless shelters allowed or constructed during a declaration of shelter crisis.
