6.M. - Page 22 of 22 <br />pursuant to Government Code section 8698.4(a)(4), CEQA shall not apply to actions <br />taken by a state agency or a city, county, or city and county, to lease, convey, or <br />encumber land owned by a city, county, or city and county, or to facilitate the lease, <br />conveyance, or encumbrance of land owned by the local government for, or to provide <br />financial assistance to, a homeless shelter constructed or allowed by Government Code <br />section 8698.4(a)(4). To the extent that the City is providing financial assistance to a <br />homeless shelter allowed pursuant to Government Code section 8698.4, CEQA shall not <br />apply. <br />Section 6. Effectiveness; Publication; Filing. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days <br />after adoption and shall be published in the manner required by law.
