The receipt of payment shall be taken to the City's Public Works Department 1400 <br />Broadway, Redwood City, to pick up the water meter. <br />7. The CONSULTANT shall remove all sludge, dirt, sand, rocks, roots, grease and other solid or <br />semisolid material resulting from the cleaning operation at the downstream manhole of the <br />section being cleaned. Procedure for removing roots may include the use of mechanical <br />equipment such as rodding machines and bucket machines using root cutters and porcupines. <br />Passing material from manhole section to manhole section, which could cause line stoppages, <br />accumulations of sand in wet wells, or damage pumping equipment, shall not be permitted. <br />Chemical root treatment shall not be used by the CONTRACTOR. <br />8. The CONSULTANT shall dispose all solids or semisolids resulting from the cleaning <br />operations from the site at a suitably sanitary landfill site as defined by the Titles 22 and 23 of <br />the California Administrative Code. Under no circumstances will the CONSULTANT will be <br />allowed to accumulate debris on the site. The CONSULTANT will be allowed to store a debris <br />container in the City Public Works Services Division corporation yard. Cost for removal and <br />disposal of solids shall be included in the proposal. <br />9. If the CONSULTANT encounters a surcharging manhole (flow exceeds the diameter of the <br />sewer pipe), the CONSULTANT shall clear the blockage and shall immediately notify the City <br />Public Works Services Department at (650-780-7464) and provide information on the cause <br />of the blockage once completed. Cost for handling and cleaning of surcharging manhole <br />shall be included in the proposal. <br />10. The CONSULTANT shall prevent contract operations from causing a stoppage or overflow. <br />In the event of a stoppage or overflow, the CONSULTANT shall immediately notify the City <br />Public Works Department at (650-780-7464). The CONSULTANT shall remove the stoppage <br />and contain and mitigate the overflow. Overflows shall be mitigated to the City's standards <br />including property damage overflows that shall require cleaning and restoration. All costs for <br />damages occasioned by the overflow are the responsibility of the CONSULTANT. <br />11. The CONSULTANT shall use a 180 -degree rotating head color camera for pipe sizes 6 inch <br />and larger in diameter. The color camera shall be operative under 100 percent humidity <br />conditions in the sewer. The center of the camera lens shall be at or above the spring line of <br />the sewer being televised. The camera and ancillary equipment shall not block the sewage <br />flow at any time. In cases where it will not be possible to remove a trapped camera by <br />excavation of a sewer line, a tag line shall be attached to each end of the camera to allow the <br />camera to be pulled out from either end. If the camera gets stuck in the sewer pipeline, the <br />CONSULTANT shall be responsible for all costs involved in extracting it, and shall extract the <br />equipment in a timely manner in order to avoid interruption to sewer flow. The CONSULTANT <br />shall call the Community Development Department Engineering and Transportation Division <br />at (650) 780-7380 to notify of the situation. <br />12. Lighting and camera quality shall be suitable to allow a clear in -focus picture for a minimum <br />of six lineal feet of the entire inside periphery of the sewer pipe. The camera shall have a <br />minimum capability of 350 lines of resolution and should be of the "articulating head" type to <br />allow laterals and defects to be viewed directly. To ensure peak picture quality throughout all <br />conditions encountered during the survey, a variable intensity control of the camera lights and <br />remote control adjustments for focus and iris shall be located at the monitoring station.
