June 15, 2021

City o f Redwood City
ATTN: City Manager
1017 Middlefield Rd.
Redwood City, CA 94063

Subject: 2021 - 2022 Mosquito Abatement Services Agreement

Dear Ms. Diaz:

Enclosed is the “Abatement Services Agreement” between our agencies for mosquito surveillance and control
activities by the District for the catch basin storm drain system in the developed areas of Redwood Shores.

The District will continue to limit the abatement billing to $45,000 and will absorb any costs that surpass this limit.
If, in the future, your city’s requirements change, we will address those needs in an updated contract at the
beginning of the next fiscal year to help avoid any budgetary problems.

The “Abatement Services Agreement” is designed to support unique mosquito control problems that cannot be
handled within the scope of this District’s normal program. It should be clearly understood that the residents of
Redwood City would continue to receive the same previous level of public health service, in addition to the extra
service provided by this agreement. District personnel will advise the property owner if mosquito breeding habitat
can be eliminated without the use of pesticides. District personnel will continue to respond to service requests on a
daily basis and to make routine inspections of numerous mosquito sources found in lagoons, marshes, fish ponds,
utility vaults, impounded waters and other fresh water sources. Appropriate action will be taken to control or
eliminate these mosquito problems, as they are located. Any questions regarding the treatment program should be
directed to Brian Weber, District Manager.

This District operates pursuant to the statutory laws relating to mosquito abatement and pest abatement districts in
California Health and Safety Code, Division 3, Chapter 1, Section 2000 – 2093, inclusive. Please sign, date and
return the original copy of the “Abatement Services Agreement” to the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector
Control District.

Sincerely,

Brian Weber
District Manager

cc: Public Works Services Dept., City of Redwood City 1400 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063
DocuSign Envelope ID: A71DDC03-9836-4E78-95DA-F5D755274BC9DocuSign Envelope ID: A2F72F06-00F3-41AE-A29D-6738D65890A5
