RESOLUTION NO. 15968 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING A SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT WITH SERVICE <br />EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 521 REGARDING <br />LIBRARY JOB DESCRIPTION UPDATES AND LIBRARIAN IN -CHARGE <br />DUTIES, AND AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY <br />PLAN TO AMEND THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF LIBRARIAN 1/11, SENIOR <br />LIBRARY ASSISTANT, AND LIBRARY ASSISTANT 1/11 <br />WHEREAS, the City and Service Employees International Union Local 521 (SEIU) <br />entered into a Memorandum of Understanding effective February 1, 2019 - January 31, <br />2022; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties met and conferred, and reached a Side Letter of <br />Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", regarding updates to the Library Assistant 1/11, <br />Senior Library Assistant, and Librarian 1/11 classification specifications in order to reflect <br />an updated list of job duties and clarify assignment and compensation for performance of <br />in -charge duties related to Library operations and security; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested that these classifications be <br />amended to meet the current and future operational needs of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the classification specifications as described in Exhibit "B", and <br />Library In -Charge duties as described in Exhibit "C", were prepared by Human Resources <br />staff in consultation with department management to ensure the foreseeable needs of the <br />organization were met; and <br />WHEREAS, Human Resources staff have met and conferred with SEIU and <br />reached agreement on the proposed classification specifications, in -charge duties, and <br />recommended salary range amendments as included in Exhibit "B", Exhibit "C", Exhibit <br />"D", and as listed in the full salary plan attached as Exhibit "E". <br />ATTY/RESO.0053/CC RESO TO AMEND LIBRARY CLASSIFICATIONS & IN CHARGE DUTIES RESO.
