EXHIBIT "C" <br />Library In -Charge Job Duties Summary <br />In -Charge Job Duties Summary <br />Staff who are designated In Charge are responsible for the following: <br />1. Employee must have successfully passed their probationary period or completed "In -Charge" <br />training. <br />2. Employee will be compensated in 15 -minute increments for all time worked within the same <br />pay period. <br />3. Overseeing opening and closing procedures—assuring that these procedures, including checking <br />the sick line, are done according to each worksite checklist. <br />4. Assuring that standard Library functions are operating—checking to make sure that all public <br />areas and service desks are operating as expected. <br />5. Adjusting schedules and assignments—making changes as necessary to handle unexpected <br />absences or unexpected workloads at Downtown Library and Branch Libraries, including decisions <br />about possible location closures for lunch or a full day. In -Charge staff will try to reach managers <br />by phone or text before closing locations. Manager must respond by 11am or In -Charge individual <br />will make decision. <br />6. Handling unusual or serious customer issues—interpreting and enforcing policies, including the <br />Library Behavior Policy; using informed judgment to make exceptions when appropriate; calling <br />911 or other emergency first responders as needed; notifying manager and Serena of any <br />incidents by email (including names and/or descriptions of individuals involved, date/time of <br />incident, and pertinent information about what happened and who witnessed). Providing <br />guidance to Branch Library staff in handling situations and traveling to Branches if absolutely <br />necessary. <br />7. Handling emergencies— including, but not limited to, earthquake, fire, power outage, employee <br />injury, patron injury. <br />8.
