SIDE LETTER BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br />SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 521 (SEIU) <br />RE: ASSISTANT AND ASSOCIATE ENGINEER FLEXIBLE PROMOTIONS <br />3. For the current Associate Engineer recruitment (as of June 2021), the City will use the <br />current applicant pool, and will reopen the application process for an additional two <br />weeks. <br />4. By or before August 30, 2021, the City will initiate a classification study for the Assistant <br />Engineer and Associate Engineer job specifications. The study will be completed by <br />January 1, 2022, subject to employees' timely completion of position questionnaires. By <br />mutual agreement between the City and Union, the parties may revise these timelines <br />in the event the City's classification consultant is unavailable. In the event the City <br />proposes changes to the job specification following the completion of the classification <br />study, the City will offer the Union an opportunity to meet and confer over proposed job <br />specification revisions. <br />Upon City Council adoption of this side letter, the City will proceed to fill vacant <br />positions in the Assistant Engineer 1/11 and Associate Engineer classifications. <br />EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY AMENDED IN THIS SIDE LETTER, THE EXISTING PROVISIONS OF THE MOU <br />BETWEEN THE PARTIES REMAINS UNCHANGED AND IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT. <br />SO AGREED: <br />FORTHE CITY FOR THE UNION <br />Date: June_ 2. 2021 <br />Date: June 41 2021 <br />Page Z of Z <br />ATTY/RESO.0054/EXH I BIT A - SEIU ENGINEER FLEX STAFF POSITIONS SIDE LETTER REV: 07-20-2021 MI RESO.
