34 <br /> <br />4. Ensure every live animal goes through an intake process where a photo and <br />description of each animal is added to the Chameleon (or any successor system) <br />database. Core vaccinations, deworming and any necessary flea treatment for animals to <br />be sheltered shall also be administered and documented in Chameleon (or any <br />successor system) during the intake process. The photos of all stray animals impounded <br />at the County Shelter shall be made available for viewing by the public on the <br />Contractor’s lost and found website page during the stray hold period. The photos of all <br />adoptable animals past any necessary stray hold period kept at the County Shelter shall <br />also be made available for viewing by the public on the Contractor’s website. <br />5. Ensure all owner contact information and attempts to contact the owners of animals <br />wearing a license or identification tag, a microchip or any other kind of identification must <br />be recorded in Chameleon (or any successor system). Behavior notes and all other <br />information regarding the animal shall also be recorded in Chameleon (or any successor <br />system). <br />6. Contractor will record in the Chameleon database Activity Record field responses with <br />staff going on scene to the location of the activity differently than they will non-field <br />responses, such as leaving phone messages, phone conversations, radio conversations, <br />mailing letters, or any other activities performed when staff is not physically on the scene <br />of the location of the activity. Recording field and non-field responses differently will allow <br />accurate response reports to be generated. Response time reports for the City/County <br />will only include field service calls when field staff is dispatch to a scene to handle a <br />priority 1-5 call. It will include the time call was received, time dispatched, time the staff <br />arrived on the scene and time the staff cleared the scene and what action the staff took. <br />7. Ensure all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens in a litter, weaned or not weaned, shall <br />always be provided with an individual animal ID number in Chameleon (or any successor <br />system) that is counted in both intake and outcome statistics. <br />I. Disaster response <br />Contractor will: <br />1. Coordinate with County in the event of a disaster/declared state of emergency. <br />2. Provide assistance to residents, local law enforcement, fire agencies and the County of <br />San Mateo Office of Emergency Services to evacuate, shelter, and care for animals in <br />the event of a disaster. <br />3. Be activated by the County’s office of Emergency Services in accordance with the <br />County’s Incident Command System. <br />4. Work with other groups within the County during a disaster to ensure animals are <br />safely evacuated and proper care is provided. <br />5. Ensure that staff or a third-party organization is available to respond to a disaster and <br />are trained in the handling and care of all animal species within the County. <br />6. Ensure that each staff member responding to the disaster completes necessary FEMA <br />forms. <br />7. Participate in a minimum of one (1) full-scale disaster exercise with San Mateo County <br />Health or the Office of Emergency Services annually. <br /> <br /> <br />   <br />   <br />
