<br />Redwood City and included conceptual development plans for reuse of the Maple Street site. However} <br />this site was not pursued} as the Sheriffs Office determined that "the size of the site is not conducive to an <br />efficient building designJJ.4 The Sheriffs Office also investigated up to 17 other sites throughout the County} <br />including the 6.2-acre Peninsula Human Society site in San Mateo} four sites in East Palo Alto} and the <br />Malibu Grand Prix site on Blomquist Avenue in Redwood City. Also} a Jail Planning Advisory Committee} or JPAC} has been <br />formed composed of persons appointed by the Board of Supervisors and Sheriff Greg Munks. The first <br />series of community meetings} consisting of three workshops} was held in October of 2008. The City of <br />Redwood City notes that none of the three initial meetings was conducted in Redwood City. Additional <br />community meetings occurred during July of 2009} including one in Redwood City.
