<br />METROPOLITAN PLANNING GROUP <br /> <br />ill' .... <br /> <br />~f'.. --,~j <br />~- .... ~~: <br /> <br />a new design on urban planning <br /> <br />GROUP <br /> <br />Derek Farmer, Senior Planner; Project Manager <br />Derek has been working in the professional planning realm for nearly 8 years. He has served as project <br />manager for complex development projects and advance planning projects in multiple jurisdictions. He has <br />experience working in long range and current planning with familiarity of county and city planning <br />departments. <br /> <br />Derek also has extensive experience processing development projects and managing the complex CEQA <br />process through his work at San Mateo County and Santa Clara County. Additionally, Derek has valuable <br />private sector entitlement experience working for regional and national home builders. He is a seasoned <br />planner who has worked on zoning code assignments, low-income housing projects, conducted visioning <br />workshops for General Plan updates and has extensive experience in collaborative planning. <br /> <br />Other Related Experience <br /> <br />In addition to the above Environmental Review-related projects, M-Group has also been involved in <br />extensive Policy Planning for many Bay Area cities. M-Group is currently engaged in nine Housing Elements <br />within the Bay Area. These policy documents are focused on housing elements and preparing Initial Studies <br />and Negative Declarations for most of them. We are familiar with housing development issues in <br />communities throughout Santa Clara County and in San Mateo County. <br /> <br />M-Group is also active in a number of projects where we provide Environmental Process Management <br />services. This work primarily involves coordinating projects that involve complex Environmental Impact <br />Reports. We provide project management services, coordinating between the City, the Applicant and the <br />EIR consultant. This work keeps us very up to date on ever changing CEQA requirements. Examples of these <br />projects include: <br /> <br />1. Palo Alto - Stanford Medical Center and Stanford Shopping Center Expansion <br />2. Palo Alto - Public Safety Building <br />3. San Carlos Transit Village <br />4. Milpitas - Landmark Tower <br /> <br />M-Group is currently providing Environmental Project Management services for the following General Plan <br />and Housing Element Updates: <br /> <br />1. San Carlos General Plan and Housing Element <br />2. Santa Clara General Plan and Housing Element <br />3. Woodside General Plan and Housing Element Update <br /> <br />M-Group is also currently preparing Initial Studies and Negative Declarations for the following Housing <br />Element Updates: <br /> <br />1. Belvedere General Plan and Housing Element Update <br />2. Burlingame Housing Element and Downtown Specific Plan <br />3. Campbell Housing Element <br />4.
