17060 P a g e | 4 <br />Proposal for Storm Drain Pump Station Improvements Projects <br />BRADFORD PUMP STATION <br />Deliverables will be in an ESRI GIS database and Civil 3D drawings. <br />Deliverables: <br />Topographic Base Map: (1) Hard Copy and (1) electronic Adobe Acrobat (PDF) copy. <br />Task 2.5 – Perform Potholing for Existing Utilities <br />The utilities locating subconsultant will perform potholing of buried utilities. The utility will be exposed using <br />vacuum excavation. The point of excavation will be marked by others. Measurements will be taken to the top of the <br />utility. Excavated material will be removed from site, the pothole will be backfilled with CDF and the surface hot <br />asphalted where applicable. <br />The utilities locating subconsultant will: <br />a. Provide all special equipment, skilled personnel and supplies necessary to perform utility location services <br />utilizing air/vacuum, dust-controlled soil extraction methods. <br />b. Acquire all necessary permits from the District, City, County or other jurisdiction to work in the streets, roads <br />and right of ways associated with the above project. The actual cost of each permit will be charged directly to <br />client <br />c. Comply with all applicable subsurface utility damage prevention laws, including pre-marking prospective <br />work areas and notify USA 48 hours prior to start of work. <br />d. Provide traffic control, including materials, labor and equipment, in accordance with the requirements of the <br />appropriate jurisdictions. <br />e. Neatly cut and remove existing pavement, generally 12" square for depths to 10 feet. <br />f. Remove the soil above the utility using vacuum excavation and compressed air to loosen the material, in <br />order to safely expose the top of the utility. <br />g. Measure to 1/4 of one inch to the top of the utility from original ground surface. <br />h. Backfill with CDF and re-surface with hot asphalt in paved areas. <br />i. Furnish and install PK nails and/or high visibility "whiskers" or stakes directly above the center-line of the <br />utility. <br />j. Provide a table that indicates the utility reference number, description of the utility including size and <br />material where ascertainable and depth to top of the utility. <br />Deliverables: <br />8 Pothole reports for up to 2 potholes (to 5 ft.) and up to 6 potholes (to 9 ft.). <br />Task 2.6 – Obtain ROW and Preliminary Title Reports <br />The Consultant will perform Right-of-Way (ROW) research by gathering information for property boundary, <br />easements, and datum control monumentation and utility/infrastructure data. The Consultant will research record <br />maps filed within the City recorder’s office, and San Mateo County GIS information. The collected data will be used <br />for the preparation of the Project Base Map. The SOW assumes that the City will provide Preliminary Title Reports <br />for each of the Project sites at the City’s cost. <br />Task 2.7 – Develop Survey Base Map <br />A boundary survey will be completed for the local parcels by the Consultant.
