6.1C <br /> available to residents at the Fair Oaks Community Center at a specified time during thePage 2 <br /> week in an effort to be more accessible to residents. <br /> Project Sentinel submitted a proposal in 2009-10 with the commitment that if they were <br /> selected, they would move their offices to Redwood City. The Housing and Human <br /> Concems Committee (HHCC) recommended funding which the Council approved in the <br /> 2009-10 Annual Action Plan, and Project Sentinel has subsequently moved to an office <br /> on Middlefield Road. Project Sentinel is a HUD Certified Fair Housing organization and <br /> Certified Mortgage Counseling Agency. They are a recipient of special HUD funding to <br /> provide mortgage counseling services to low income homeowners and will bring a much <br /> needed service to Redwood City residents. <br /> One of the two agreements for Shelter Nefin►ork, Redwood Family House, is funded <br /> jointly ftom CDBG and the General Fund. This General Fund allocation of $40,000 was <br /> approved July 13, 2009, by the City Council in the adoption of the FY 2009-10 budget. <br /> The funding agreements included in this report primarily provide homeless intervention <br /> and housing services. Capital improvement projects will be brought to Council for <br /> approval when the activities are ready to proceed. The specific list ofi the 11 non-profit <br /> organizations, a description of the activities, and the amount funded is attached to this <br /> report as Attachment 1. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> The Council may choose to modify the budget and/or scopes of work of the <br /> agreements. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> The City received $724,387 in CDBG funds for FY 2009-2010. The total cost of these <br /> programs is $349,108.35. CDBG funds will pay $241,250.00 and HOME funds will pay <br /> $67,858.35; the remaining $4�,000.00 will be paid from the City's General Fund as <br /> previously approved in the City's Fiscal Year 2449-10 budget.
