REV: 11-23-2021 <br />The Contractor shall also provide high quality digital photographs of inside and outside <br />the tank. All equipment and divers shall be properly disinfected prior to each dive. <br />Contractor shall notify the City immediately (same day) if any structural defects are <br />observed on the exterior or interior of the tank, or if the inspection and cleaning cannot <br />be performed for any reason. <br />The following items shall be inspected on each tank: <br />Condition of steel on the interior and exterior (as applicable). <br />Condition of concrete walls (as applicable). <br />Corrosion of any exposed materials. <br />Conditions of tank hatches, vents and other penetrations, as well as screens, <br />overflow systems and covers. <br />Measurement of bottom sediment depths in at least four (4) locations. Sediment <br />shall then be averaged out over the surface of the tank. <br />Percentage of coating failure and corrosion on all coated surfaces. <br />Condition of foundation and anchors (as applicable). <br />Cathodic protection review of all components (as applicable). <br />Pit and blister analysis. The extent of pitting shall be described by the location <br />and character. <br />Examine wall-floor joints for leakage and signs of concrete deterioration. <br />Examine roof. <br />Examine all seams and floors. <br />Inspect support columns and column to roof area. <br />Dry Film Thickness (DFT) readings of painted surfaces (roof and wall plates) <br />B. Tank Cleaning <br />The Contractor shall comply with latest American Water Works Association (AWWA) and <br />other applicable industry standards for potable water tank cleaning. <br />Cleaning shall be conducted with the tanks full, and bottom sediment shall be removed. <br />Contractor shall include optional cost for disposal of sediment and sediment bags at an <br />appropriate legal location of Contractors’ choosing. The City reserves the right to dispose <br />of sediment at its own expense. Rates shall include the removal of 3 inches of sediment, <br />and a unit price for each additional inch of sediment if greater than 3 inches, cost for <br />sediment bags, overtime costs, and a safety plan. Contractor shall provide equipment <br />capable of cleaning and inspecting tanks, which shall consist of, but is not limited to, the <br />following: <br />•Two-way diver to surface communications. <br />•Complete underwater lighting system. <br />•Full-face mask and dry suit (chemical resistant). The diver shall be totally <br />isolated from the potable water. <br />•Equipment to disinfect diver and equipment before each dive. <br />•Equipment for cleaning potable water storage tank. <br />•Equipment shall be capable of removing flocculated material, silt, sediment, <br />sand and debris from the floor of the tank. <br />ATTY/AGR.2021.301/H2O Solutions, L.L.C.
