City of Redwood City
FY 2009-2010 Budget Amendments
Detail of Proerammatic Reductions

78
Paae 25
Attachment-~

GENERAL FUND

Public Works Services - Cont.

The elimination of the Ford Ranger Truck from the Right of Way Division will not cause any significant
impacts. The eliminated Public Works Supervisor in the Right of Way Division (that had managed the
Electrical Maintenance Section} Street Tree Maintenance Section} and Sidewalk Repair Section) had
used the Ford Ranger Truck. The remaining Public Works Supervisor in the Right of Way Division (that
manages the Streets and Parking Lots Section} Paint & Sign Section, and the Sheriff's Work Program)
will still have the use of another Ford Ranger Truck.

packaee 2
N/A

PackaJ!e 3
Description of Proposed Redudion
All reductions in Package 1; Additionally, Package 3 would reduce professional services by $74}136 in
the Electrical Maintenance Section.

Service Level Impacts
The elimination of $74}136 from professional services in the Electrical Maintenance Section will not
cause any significant impacts. Public Works Services plans to contract with an electrical vendor to
provide all traffic signal} street light, and lighting maintenance. The electrical vendor will still respond
to all emergency situations; however, the elimination of $74}136 from professional services will limit
the level of service provided by the electrical vendor. This means that less preventative maintenance
will be performed on the traffic signals and street lights in Redwood City.

PackaJ!e 4
N/A
